This is really a super amazing show. It attracted me completely. I have watched it more than 10 times. This show was showed in 2009/09/10. The song is from the Oprah’s 24th season kickoff party album. Even though I don’t know the name of the singers, I still was shocked by them. Everyone who joined the party should be the artist. Every audience was from different professions. Everyone was wearing different color clothing. They had practiced for times before the show begin. That’s really amazing. Words are enough to explain my exciting. I do like to recommend you guys to watch it.

Our topic is pop culture. We found different kinds of pop culture factors in Michigan Ave and the park. Firstly, we took a picture in front of the Chicago Theater. Then we went to the Park, which is one of the most famous places of interest in Chicago. And we found a strange object or we can call it logo in everywhere of Chicago, especially in the roar. That logo looks like a ghost. We went through lots of pop brand in Michigan Ave; we interviewed someone in the apple store. People do like apple brand. That’s the most popular and famous technology brand in the world now. Last, we met a lady who is African-American. The funny thing is that lots of people don’t what pop culture and high culture are. We got a amazing experience from this project.

Technology

Laptop should be the most important part of technology in your life. I cannot live without it. Actually, I’m not really good at fixing the laptop. So the people told me that I should get a laptop from a good brand. Even though HP is not the best brand, but it still good. I use my laptop to finish my homework, connecting with my friends everywhere and every time. Laptop also should be the most convenient technology now. Some people maybe would say that I- phone also could search the Internet anytime and anywhere. But the screen of the cell phone is really very small. This mini and pink laptop was my first one. It’s small, cute, useful and powerful than the cell phone in my mind.

Movies

“When you were still an 8-year-old child, how would you do if your family left you behind at home?” This movie was talking a story about Kevin, who was the youngest one in his family. After all of his family members arrived in France, they found that they left Kevin at home accidently. Unfortunately, Kevin’s house became the target of two thieves’. The smart Kevin was going to do everything to protect his house. If Kevin would beat them at the fighting? Let’s appreciate this funny movie now…

Chris Columbus was the director of Home Alone. And this funny story was written by John Hughes. Home Alone was a Christmas film that was published in 16 November 1990 in USA. The genres of this movie were comedy, crime and family. The most important thing was that this movie was nominated for 2 Oscars. The most attractive part for me was that how did Kevin fight against two thieves. The fun began: two thieves wanted to steal Kevin’s house, but their thinking was knew by Kevin. Then Kevin set up his house with lots of apparatuses. After being making fun and playing by Kevin, that two thieves became angry, they were going to fight back. Little Kevin was getting in trouble. Before seeing this part I would think that if this little kid could safety? How could he protect himself? Final, I was shocked by its plots. Kevin was not just protecting himself also his house.
I recommend you to see this movie, because this was not just a funny one. It also taught us how to treasure our family? Even though this was not a super special story, but the director used a funny way to reveal it. I have seen this movie over 10 times. Of course I saw the Chinese version but it was still amazing.

Music

“Wind is going on” is my favorite song. This song is talking about a love story. The couple has to be separated. They both feel that cannot bear away from each other. They remembered the memory again and again; they don’t want to give up each other. But the girl has to go abroad.
Leslie Cheung is one of my favorite artists. He is a successful singer, artist and writer. He had reached the top place of the music area 20 years ago. He’s one the most famous successful superstar in HK’s history. It’s a huge pity for every HK citizen.
My favorite type of music is pop music. I found the definition of pop music from the internet: Pop music, in popular and contemporary parlance, is a subgenre of popular music. Since the term spans many rock, hip hop, rhythm and blues (R&B), country, dance and operatic pop acts, it is reasonable to say that "pop music" is a loosely defined category. I like pop music, because it reflected every generation’s thinking.

Reading

The reading in P172, Rule of Thumbs: love in the age of texting. The author was Natalie Y. Moore.
Before reading this article, I didn’t realize that texting message had already played a super important role in our daily life. People were sending texting messages at any time in anywhere. Even though they are crossing the road, they didn’t realize the car is coming. Some people like to explain their ideas or feelings through the texting messages; they became shyer and shyer to explain themselves face to face. Actually, the cost of the texting messages is a little bit cheaper than taking calls. Especially the young generation, they like to communicative by sending the texting message. Just like: ‘mom, I’m at school now, could you pick me up?’ “Dad, I’m at my bed room, could you please take some food to me? I’m hungry.”
In this article, Natalie was dating almost with her boyfriend’s texting messages. She’s getting angry, even though breaking up this relationship, her boyfriend still used texting messages. People became lazier and lazier to talk .

Pop Culture

After having this class, I knew the definition of pop culture. The things that focus on reading and writing about things in our world, like television, movies, music, and technology, we call these things as pop culture. Pop culture includes people, events, objects and places. Actually, I connect with pop culture every day. No one could live without pop culture. The TV, movies, songs and books are always reflecting our lives, thinking and trend.
I would like to realize everything after taking this class. I would ask myself, “this object belongs to pop culture or not? When I go through the apple store, I will go inside and ask the salesman some questions, of course including “do you know I-PHONE is pop culture?” even though these are stupid questions. But I still like to ask the people if they know what pop culture is? After watching one movie, I will try to connect it with my usual life. I would like to tell my parent what the movie reflected.
